British Columbia Business Strategic Projects Stream

The British Columbia Strategic Projects Stream is designed for foreign corporations that want to establish their operations/branch in British Columbia. This program encourages high-value foreign investment, technology transfer, job creation, and long-term economic growth in the province. The corporation may bring up to five (5) key staff members who are essential to establishing and operating the business. This pathway to PR for current employees of the foreign corporations to operate in B.C.

 

Eligibility Requirements (Minimum)

  • Foreign corporation must demonstrate a proven business track record.
  • Minimum CAD $500,000 equity investment in the new or existing B.C. business.
  • Must create at least 3 full-time jobs for Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents per key staff member.
  • Key staff must be essential, have relevant qualifications, and must be eligible for a work permit.
  • The business must provide a significant economic benefit to British Columbia.
  • Corporation must actively manage day-to-day business operations from within B.C for 12 to 24 months.

Application Process:

Step 1: Assessment of ILCB;

Step 2: Initial consultation with BC PNP about project eligibility.

Step 3: Registration with BC PNP including investment proposal, and business concept.

Step 4: Upon approval, submit the full application package, including detailed business documentation.

Step 5: BC PNP assessment, including interviews and/or site visits.

Step 6: Foreign Corporation and BC PNP sign the Corporate Performance Agreement (CPA).

Step 7: Receive Work Permit Support Letters for each key staff member.

Step 8: Key staff apply to IRCC for a work permit and relocate to British Columbia.

Step 9: Corporation establishes the business, makes the investment, and creates the required jobs.

Step 10: Upon successful fulfillment of the CPA, BC PNP issues nomination certificates to eligible key staff between 12-24 months.

Step 11: Key staff submit applications for Permanent Residence to IRCC.
